Nope. Tracfone cards can be used only on Tracfone branded cell phones.

Also, FYI, Tracfone will work everywhere a Cingular GO phone will, and

in some places not covered by Cingular. The reason is that Tracfone

purchases services from many networks, including Cingular, and when one

isn't available your Tracfone will roam onto another GSM network, if

one is available. This is not always the case with Cingular phones -

sometimes they won't roam onto available GSM networks, and if they do

they charge 2x the cost per minute. In general, I've found Cingular to

have the worst rates among major US prepaid mobile companies. The only

possible exception I can think of to this would be if you make A LOT of

calls to other Cingular customers every month, and are on the GO phone

plan that allows free in-network calling. If I recall correctly,

though, that plan costs $1 every day you make a call, so you'd better

be talking at least 10 minutes a day to get your money's worth on that

one. If you don't mind having a phone with fewer bells and whistles, in

my opinion Tracfone is better in terms of cost-per-minute and coverage

for people who talk 150 minutes per month or less. If you're more in

the 150-350 minute per month range, Net10 is probably your best option

in cost and coverage. If you make 90% of your calls in an area that has

t-mobile coverage, then t-mobile to go is better than any of these.

They offer a flat 10 cents per minute, just like net10, but with much

nicer phones and more customer-friendly rollover provisions.

This is actually an excerpt from my Unofficial Tracfone User's

Guide, which I sell for $3 on ebay. I also discuss other Tracfone

topics in my blog, which you can find here:

Can you take your old net10 sim card and put it in to your new net10 phone and receive the call that would have went to your old phone and if there was minutes on your old phone will they be on my new?

The TracFone / NET10 SIM Card is very unique. It can only be used in a phone sold by TracFone or NET10. Once a phone is activated the SIM Card is tied to the Serial Number of the phone. It can not be removed and placed in a different TracFone or NET10 phone. It has to stay with the phone it was originally activated in. The units/minutes are not stored on the SIM Card they are stored in the phone itself. The TracFone / NET10 SIM Card can not be used in any other GSM technology phone. TracFone and NET10 both have an elaborate database of all the phones they have ever sold in it. You can not activate a phone unless the Serial Number is in their database. If you purchase a phone that has not been properly scanned by a retailer you will not be able to activate it.=You can not change the SIM Card and activate a TracFone on the NET10 website and you can not change the SIM Card and activate a NET10 phone on the TracFone website. If you try you will be directed to the proper website for activation.==There are three types of SIM cards currently being used by TracFone and NET10 depending on the Zip Code you will be using the phone in the most. SIM cards with a part number ending in C4 are on the AT&T/Cingular network, cards ending in T5 are on the T-Mobile network and cards ending in D6 are on the Dobson network which was recently acquired by AT&T.==You do not have to buy a SIM Card for a TracFone or a NET10 phone. A replacement SIM Card will be sent to you FREE of charge if you request one. You can call TracFone Customer Service at 1-800-867-7183 or NET10 Customer Service at 1-877-836-2368 . When you call press 1 for English, press 4 when the first menu starts then press 5 when the second menu starts to talk to a Customer Service Representative. The replacement SIM Card will be shipped to you by Express Delivery.==Do not be fooled by eBay sellers claiming their TracFone / NET10 SIM Card includes 10 to 20 units/minutes. A TracFone / NET10 SIM Card does not include any units/minutes. A new or reconditioned TracFone or NET10 phone comes with Starter units/minutes when activated. This is done by the Serial Number of the new or reconditioned phone. It has nothing to do with the SIM Card.==Note: A TracFone SIM Card is used in both a TracFone and a NET10 phone. NET10 is considered to be the Frequent User Division of TracFone.=

Can you turn any phone into a tracfone?

There are two types of TracFones now, CDMA and GSM. This refers to the type of network used by the phone. And CDMA phone works only on CDMA networks, and same for GSM. GSM phones have SIM cards, CDMA do not (for the purpose of this discussion, anyway). I'm not clear on your reason for asking this question, but that's your answer. A CDMA phone does not have a SIM card. For more on CDMA vs. GSM Tracfones, check out this page: http://pbush14.wordpress.com/2008/03/16/tracfone-cdma-vs-gsm/ I should also clarify here that if your phone is a GSM phone, it MUST have a SIM card installed to operate. Also, to be used as a Tracfone, a phone must have the Tracfone software installed on it. This means that it must have been purchased as a "Tracfone" model. You can NOT bring a phone from a different service and use it as a Tracfone.

Can a tacfone sim card be used on an unlocked razr phone?

No, Tracfone SIM cards can only be used in Tracfones. Its locked and theres no way around it (I've tried)

Have tracfone haven't used in a while do i just buy new card to activate?

Yes, if you haven't used your TracFone in a while, you can buy a new prepaid card to reactivate your service. Simply purchase the appropriate card and follow the instructions provided to add it to your account. If your phone has been inactive for an extended period, it's a good idea to check if your number is still valid before proceeding.

I know i can call another country from my tracfone but can i take it and use it in that country?

NO, tracfone can only be used in USA! That is what customer service just told me

Why does your tracfone say its roaming in the local calling area?

Because it is not using the home tower. In my zip code (CDMA market), Verizon and US Cellular are the two providers. My Tracfone should be using Verizon towers, but it is using the US Cellular towers and showing roaming on the phone in the home area. Whenever the home towers are not being used, the Tracfone will show roaming on a CDMA phone. GSM phones are a different story.

Can a tracfone sim card be used in a unlocked phone?

Well, From what I am understanding the answer is no. Tracfone is weird, because the SIM card serves no purpose, but it's cell phones wont work without it. All information is stored in the phone. Also, Tracfone's SIM cards have GSM with a CDMA lock on it. Basically, It has to do with how signals are received from the cell phone towers. However, I am trying to do the same thing right now, and maybe get a good result. =/ From tekgek: From my experience, yes, you can. Put the sim card in an unlocked phone, and it should work. I tried this with a nokia e51 and n81, and was able to send and receive calls. (Don't know about any of the other features). The only thing that you will lose is the ability to see how many units you have left. If that does not matter, then go ahead! From Spyguy10709 You really cannot do this. tracfone locks your IMEI of your SIM card to the IMEI of your phone. Unless you work there, you can't get around this. Sorry!

How is a phone card used?

You use a prepaid phone card by calling the number listed on the card. Then you will be directed to give your personal identification number (PIN), and then the number you'd like to call.

What is more expensive a tracfone or a cell phone plan?

If you're planning on getting a prepaid phone, avoid tracfone at all cost! Virgin Mobile's prepaid service is much better and less expensive! Virgin Mobile (prepaid): $30 - 400 min 50$ - 1000 min as oppose to tracfone: $29.99 - 120 min $39.99 - 200 min Now, would a cell phone plan be cheaper than tracfone? Most likely, depending on how much you talk. Would I recommend tracfone? NO! NO! NO! Tracfone sucks! I can't understand why tracfone users don't opt for better cell phone options. The only reason why I used to have a tracfone was for international calling and texting since there's no extra fees... Bad Idea. There's still better alternatives for international calling such as Vonage. Trac fone sucks! End of story

Can you use a TracFone sim card in a boost phone?

No you cannot. AT&T uses a GSM network and Boost uses iDEN and the two are not even remotely compatible. The Boost SIM card can be used for international roaming but it will not work with GSM networks in the US. It will not work either way, a Boost SIM will not work in a GSM device and a GSM SIM will not work in a Boost device.

Can you use two phones on your tracfone account?

Yes, you can use two phones on your Tracfone account, but they need to be activated separately. Each phone must have its own SIM card and be registered under the same account to share the same balance of minutes, texts, and data. You can manage both devices through the Tracfone website or app. However, keep in mind that they cannot be used simultaneously for active calls or data.
