It really depends on what you like. There are of course the typical fantasy books like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and the Narnia books. But there are other books like the Inheritance Trilogy, The Sword of Truth series, The 7th Tower Series and the Forgotten Realms series.
-I recommend "Xoe" by Sara C. Roethle.
I recommend anything by LJ Smith, Meg Cabot or Sarah Dessen
There are many good books for teenage girls, but I personally recommend the Pretty Little Liars series, the Hunger Games trilogy, and Gossip Girl if she's into that genre field.
Some books with good morals are Madeleine L' Engle's Wrinkle in Time series. Other good series would be Laura Ingalls Wilder Little House Books and Anne of Avonlea. Goodnet.org has a webpage on 25 Children’s Books to Teach Your Kids Meaningful Values.
I would recommend reading historical fiction books as these, in my opinion, are way more fun to discuss. A great author to check out would be Salman Rushdie. Some of his more historical works include Shalimar's Clown and Midnight's Children. Unfortunately he is somewhat of a controversial figure so you would need to make sure that his books wouldn't offend anyone.
A good book about friendship and along with survival and romance "The coldest winter ever" by Sistah Souljah is a great book. I recommend it to teens.
I would recommend it to someone: Anyone.
