Not really.

The kindle's experimental web browser is designed to load text only. Even that takes a while. Even if you did manage to load facebook, the page would be very strange with all pictures removed. Since the buttons are also pictures, they would be replaced with links.

Facebook is beyond the kindle for now. Without pictures or the capability to load quickly, you'll be better off using a phone, iPod, or computer instead. Since facebook links to so many places, waiting for the kindle to load would take up half your time already.

Yes, you can surf the web on the Nook. You can also surf the web on the Kindle.

Yeah, you can probably go onto the website itself, but since the Kindle just isn't build for handling Java, you won't be able to do much at all.

Yes you can but this is only with the nooks that are in color. If you buy one that is black and white the only websites you can visit are the book-buying sites. :)
