As long as you don't need a domain name, you don't have to have a static IP. Having a dynamic IP just means that you'll need to check what you're IP address before each time that you want to use the proxy, since it might have changed since last time. So just go into the router config and set the DMZ to the computer that hosts the proxy server and then go to a site like www.IPaddress.com to find out your external IP address and then just type that in as the proxy when you're using the intranet PC. -DJ Craig
To access an intranet web server, you typically do not need a default gateway address if the server is on the same local network (subnet) as your device. In this case, communication can occur directly using the server's IP address. However, if the server is on a different subnet, a default gateway is necessary to route the traffic appropriately.
internet is global and intranet is local (server)
a proxy server
One can get direct access to the internet almost anywhere. It is a method of connecting similar to VPN connectivity that allows one to remote access a series of computers on a intranet server. It was first used as part of Windows Server 2008.
This is a server that is part of an intranet. Only those users in the company's network can access the inward facing server. It is not available to the public. Usually this is managed via a firewall, blocking all outside traffic.
Basically your computer on the intranet is connected to a server which is connected to the internet. Your computer would have limited access the internet (or none at all) but you are connected to all other computers on the network allowing you to share information with others on the network (intranet) but not allowing you to download music and such from the internet.
I don't believe that is a true statement. Client server networks provide a function of security and data resource sharing. An intranet is just a private, internal network primarily used by employees of a company, or a network that keeps its information internally. Even in an intranet you still have a client server relationship within the network.
short term risk:There are limited tool for linking an intranet server to database or other back end mainframe based application.less back-end integration:with intranet, firms have to set up and maintain separate application such as email and web server.
In 1960 the University of Illinois was the first educational establishment to provide intranet to it's students. They linked many servers together allowing their students to have access to internet from one server into their classrooms on a larger basis.
when a print job is processed over the internet or an intranet
There are certain intranet dedicated servers and benefits of managed dedicated server hosting that providesthe costumers with variety of benefits and which includes server monitoring , security, full backup and storage server configuration and maintenance , support , flexibility , reduced cost of operation and more effective use of resources.
A remote access server enables users who are not on a local network to access, retrieve, file, and print services as though they were. For example, people telecommuting to the office from home may dial into a remote access server. Through that server, users may access drives and printers in the office as though they were connected to the internal office LAN. Security is a paramount consideration in remote access applications.
