Yes, you can join plastic pipe to metal pipe.
However, the bigger question is "will my local building code allow me to do this?" and also is it safe to do it.
To answer that question, please consult a local contractor or handyman in your area.
If the pipe is metal try a metal detector. If plastic, get out your shovel.
To effectively connect a PVC pipe to a metal pipe, you can use a PVC-to-metal transition fitting. These fittings are specifically designed to join PVC and metal pipes securely. Make sure to clean and prepare the ends of both pipes before connecting them with the transition fitting. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the specific fitting you are using to ensure a proper and leak-free connection.
There is a 4" hole for the inlet near the top of every properly made septic tank. You connect the drain to this by gluing if it's a plastic pipe or by a 'Robar' joint if it's a cast iron pipe.
To connect a metal pipe to a PVC pipe using a metal to PVC adapter, the best way is to first ensure that both pipes are clean and free of any debris. Apply primer and cement to the PVC pipe and the adapter, then insert the PVC pipe into the adapter and hold it in place for a few seconds to allow the cement to set. Repeat the same process for the metal pipe and the other end of the adapter. Allow the connection to dry and cure according to the manufacturer's instructions before using the pipes.
Usually, but a saw is usually easier as the plastic is softer than metal.
yes you can put a metal fitting on a plastic pipe but it is not highly recommended but if you must use it make sure that you wrap both fittings with teflon tape in the opposite direction of the threads and be sure not to tighten to to tight this will cause the plastic to bust i hope this has helped
