There are many opinions as to what is killing off bees, and there are some people who believe cell phones are to blame. But no scientific study as of 2016 has shown this to be true. Here are some other opinions:

• The root cause of the recent bee die-off was an organism that killed the bees.
• It isn't certain why the bees are experiencing Colony Collapse Disorder. Cell Phone radiation could be the problem.
• We don't know for certain what is killing bees off (apart from a cocktail of viruses (many transported by mites), pesticides, poor variety of forage, dubious bee-keeping practices, hunger etc). There are things, however, that are exceptionally unlikely to be killing them off... and cell phones are on that list. There is absolutely no evidence to suggest that cell phones have any effect whatsoever on honey bee mortality. The only "study" that I am aware of was of highly dubious quality, done with a base station of a house "hands free" phone. Insufficient replication and no proper controls.
• To speak in absolutes about this would be choosing to remain ignorant of possible causes regarding the detriment bees are in fact experiencing. Though plausible and in some cases established reasons for bee CCD have been mentioned in the previous writings, they are sadly bias. The theory that radiation emitted from cell phone towers effects the navigational systems in worker-bees causing them not to return to their hives has been established as a viable theory. German research has shown that bees navigational systems are effected by power lines. This, in conjunction with local reports of CCD occurring near newly constructed cellphone towers led researchers to further look into the effect of the towers.
• Anything showing evidence of effecting bees should not be casually nor adamantly dismissed. Bees are VERY IMPORTANT to the planet and ALL of its inhabitants.
• Its not so much the cell phone itself as the radiation from the cell phone towers. Bees started suffering colony collapse around the time the cell towers were erected about 1994. As more and more towers are erected and the radiation levels increase then we see a more dramatic collapse as in recent years.
• In essence the radiation damages the immune system of the bees (as it does all living matter) thus rendering them unable to fight off other disease and parasite infestations.
• The radiation also interferes with the bees navigation and communication so they can get lost and fail to return to the hive.
• A research paper was presented at the Royal Society, London, in September 2008 detailing the evidence and explaining how the bees navigate using the earth's natural magnetic field.
