Hi there, I actually own a 1080p plasma tv, it is 50 inches so a good size. I bought it on the assumption it would be clearer than other plasma tvs but to be honest to the naked eye you can't tell that much

Which is clearer 1080i or1080p?

1080p is generally clearer than 1080i because it displays a full frame of 1920x1080 pixels in each refresh cycle, resulting in a sharper and more stable image. In contrast, 1080i displays the same resolution but alternates between two fields (one with even lines and the other with odd lines), which can lead to motion blur and reduced clarity, especially during fast-moving scenes. Overall, 1080p provides a superior viewing experience, particularly for high-action content.

Do LED or plasma TVs have better picture quality?

Although it still depends on its technical specification, in the vast majority of cases an LED TV will be better. What are the pros and cons of lcd and plasma TVs?

Most current plasma and LCD TVs can be used as monitors and many people do use it as such - especially for kiosks and signage. The drawback is typically lower resolution for these types of applications. You pay alot of money for these big displays and a 720p display is much cheaper than a 1080p. Pros - you get to watch TV. Plasma displays have had a richer picture quality for movies - something that probably does not mater for computer use. Cons - Much more expensive at higher resolutions. Mounting options are more expensive with large TVs

Whats the difference between plasma t v and the other kind?

The plasma's screen experiences a 'half-life' situation as far as quality picture goes. This means that your picture will get worse, but as time goes by it will get worse at a slower rate. So, assuming your plasma lasts a total of 15 years before dying, the picture will look like it was a projection TV's picture. Alternates are LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) and DLP (Digital Light Processing) http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/ISEO-rgbtcspd/learningcenter/home/TV_chart.html

How do you finetune your HDTV to 1080p?

You will need a source that outputs at 1080p. Most cable boxes/ satellite boxes do not have the ability to output 1080p (Their native resolution being 1080i/720p) Blu-ray players including the PS3, the Xbox360 along with some other streaming video devices are the only way to get a 1080p signal on your TV. Keep in mind that your content will also have to be capable of 1080p. Some video games are capable, all Blu-rays are as well. A DVD in a Blu-ray player will NOT give you 1080p.
