An SD card with photos on it actually contains quite a lot of text in the form of metadata, which describes the parameters of the camera at the time the photo was made. f-stop, ISO speed rating, exposure time and so on.
To this you may with appropriate software add titling and descriptive words, and classifications to aid sorting.
Or you can use it just as a hard disk, on which to store as much text as you can write.
It doesn't need a SD card, but you can put in a SD card if you want to store more pictures and music. If the SD card doesn't hold music, but camera, the SD card will not work on the music.

An SD Adapter is used to hold a Mini SD card so that it can be used as a standard size SD card. The adapter has no storage capacity of its own.
It means that the SD card is full- it cannot hold any more files - it has insufficient memory.

You can save photos, videos, or other digital data on an 8GB sd memory card. The 8GB is simply the amount of information that the memory card can hold.
