No... not at all. It only applies to a jailbroken device.
Jailbreaking can only be done for iPod Touches and iPhones. No other phone has the ability to be jailbroken. For an iPhone, you need to download a software from the internet to jailbreak it.
There are various ways of doing this. If your jailbroken, You can use the SSH method. If you have iFile then you can do it that way as well. The other way is just using the jailbreak tool and jailbreaking your device.
A jailbroken iPhone is one which can be used to run special, third-party applications like a version of MSN Messenger or custom themes. Jailbreaking an iPhone is the first (or second if you include activation) step in unlocking for use on any network (other than AT&T or O2 in the UK) A jailbreaker is simply a program that puts the iPhone in a jailbroken step.
"Jailbreaking" is a form of legal/illegal [depending on device] way of receiving "free stuff." For example: games, music, movies. You can also change the "theme" of your device, as if you could just rearrange everything like puzzle pieces and make them all fit. The most commonly "jailbroken" devices are the iPod Touch and the iPhone 4. "How to "jailbreak" them is a whole other long question.
its where you dont have to pay for the priced apps....hope i helped! Edit: No, jailbreaking was not created for piracy. Rather it was created to break free of Apple's restrictions. They make sure you cant install third party applications, only the ones that they approve. Jailbreaking allows you to install other applications that arent in the App Store. For example winterboard allows you to customize every aspect of your iPod. (Way more than the OS 4 non-jailbroken wallpaper) If you want to see how much stuff it customizes, search for iPhone themes on YouTube.
You don't get it but is more like get it To jailbreak is either you get RedSn0w or Spirit on you windows or Mac OSX then connect your computer with the cable with you iDevices there are people who are kind that they post how to jail break on You Tube
Jailbreaking an iPhone can enable it to connect to other mobile devices and networks that are typically restricted by Apple, such as non-Apple accessories or alternative carriers. It allows users to install unauthorized apps and tweaks that may enhance connectivity options. However, jailbreaking can void warranties, compromise security, and lead to unstable device performance. Additionally, while it may expand connectivity options, it may not guarantee compatibility with all mobile devices.
altering the factory software so you can download stuff from other places not only of the app store. jailbreaking can be dangerous for your device
Well, jailbreaking your iPhone has many advantages, e.g free apps and themes and much more. But if you've had problems and you've taken to an apple store or shipped it off to apple, they'll fine you atleast £50, $50 or whatever currency. I suggest you keep it quiet. :P Like I have. :D Also you can download this software called "yellowsn0w" which makes it SIM free, so you can use any other carrier you like.. e.g if you've bought it from AT&T or O2, you can use virgin, or T-Mobile. Cheers, Jamie.
The fourth generation iPod Touch has not been made yet, and there are several other iPods with a fourth generation, so specific information of the iPod is needed to know whether it can be jailbroken or not.
Depending on if you have a 'Jailbroken' iDevice( iPod Touch etc... ) If you are jailbroken, you can use a number of tweaks and donwloads, to activate Siri onto iPods, iPads with the help of Spire, Skyra!n or Other downloads. If you are referring to an orignal iDevice, which is not Jailbroken, the answer is simpy No, you cannot activate Siri on your Device,
You don't need to be jailbroken now that the iPhone supports most carriers. The iPhone 4 is physically unable to switch from GSM to CDMA carriers anway.
