Cloud cover blocks incoming solar radiation from reaching the earth's surface
I believe that is a preconception may not be entirely true. My kids homeschool and we go to the library at least once a week. The library is built next door to a public school. When school lets out, the library floods with kids. I think it has more to do with the library being accessible to the students and having programs that include them. If the library was six blocks away, I doubt as many kids would come. It wouldn't have anything to do with lack of interest, but for young kids, it would be much less accessible. I'm sure there wouldn't be near as many parents willing to allow their young children to walk to a library six blocks away as ones willing to allow them to go next door.
a block shot is when someone blocks a shot...... or a shot taken from the block
The ozone layer in the Earth's stratosphere blocks out harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun. It absorbs most of the sun's UV radiation before it reaches the Earth's surface, protecting living organisms from the harmful effects of UV exposure.
Ultraviolet radiation is blocked by the ozone layer in the lower stratosphere. It blocks 97â??99% of the Sun's UV rays, preventing them from damaging life on the surface of the planet.
In the morning, the sun rises in the east, casting light toward the west. As you stand facing the sun, your body blocks the sunlight, creating a shadow that extends behind you, toward the west. This is a natural result of the sun's position relative to your location.
An example of relative location is describing a place in relation to another place or landmark. For instance, "The library is located two blocks east of the post office."
casing blocks are blocks of lime stone.
The Union City Library offers a wide range of events for both adults and children. For example, on Wednesday mornings there is a knitting group, and also a two-hour period where you can work on job searches and applications, assisted by the librarian. A 'toddlers and blocks' event also runs on Wednesdays; in this group, young children can be introduced to the joy of reading, and also play with LEGO blocks. The Library is open seven days a week, so you can always stop by to browse their collections; they are stocked with over 100,000 items, including CDs and DVDs.
