Normally, your are given a link to the specific meaupload download site for the file you seek. When you are directed to said website, there is usually a small box with a captcha image above it, showing deformed letters and/or numbers. To gain access to the direct download link, you have to correctly input the characters you see in the box (they are not care sensitive, meaning you don't have to write in capital letters) and click the button "download file". After doing so, you'll have to wait 45 seconds for access to the normal download link; after that, just click on the button "Regular download".

if you choose "Premium download", you'll have to pay a fee, but you'll gain a lot of benefits (if you use megaupload a lot or need to download something bigger than 1 GB, it might be worth it).
