It's possible to buy a projector, depending on the quality of the projector and it's quality, you could have a 7 foot screen for viewing tv shows, otherwise you could buy regular LCD TVs that range from 49" to 58" inches. The biggest television displays use LED technology. They are often used for outside displays and they are found in numerous locations. Picadilly Circus in London and Times Square in New York both have many of them. The construction of a large LED display uses numerous modules fixed together to create the final size. A bit of clever signal processing splits the video signal so that each module displays its own section of the image. The maximum size depends on the number of modules available. Theoretical sizes can be as much 50 metres wide (about 55 yards) although the largest that I have worked on was about 20 metres wide. The real limit on size comes down to money rather than technology. Large displays like these are expensive to make and just as expensive to install. With several million dollars and a huge back yard, you could own the largest television in the world.
