How can I check the speed of my High Speed Internet?

The computer itself distributes the bandwidth among different applications on the computer and the data flow is already limited by the firewalls and a certain amount of closed ports.

Normally it will use about 70 to 80% of the total bandwidth that the modem can provide.

you can test the speed by running an online speed test you may try,

Speakeasy.net/speedtest and select the closest location to you.

also you may try accessing the modem directly and under the connection information you will be able to see the real speed being provided by your isp.

To be able to access the modem you need the IP adress, access start>run>type CMD> and then hit ok.

Type IPCONFIG then look for default gateway.

type that number into the adressbar on a web browser then input the manufacturers username and password for your modem.

regularly they set the modems user and password to be

ADMIN: ADMIN

Password: Password

Or

ADMIN:

Password: Password

if not it might be a different variable of the same thing.

You can check the speed of your high speed internet by clicking on your internet preferences. Once you've clicked it, scroll to the internet with which you are connected to. A scroll bar should appear, with a speed option. Click it. Then your high speed internet connection should appar, giving you the exact speed of your internet.
