Step 1.
Start with a GPS-enabled phone. These specifically have GPS capabilities and run the Java program that is needed for tracking. Though most cell phones are equipped with the GPS chip, they aren't easily accessible by the consumer. Nextel/Sprint phones such as Boost Mobile are especially designed for GPS tracking by the consumer.

Register on a site that offers the free program you need to activate and run on the phone platform. Check out Mologogo's home page for easy access to these free programs. On the next page, click the agreement box and choose a download that corresponds to the kind of phone you're using, such as a candy bar phone or clam shell phone.
Step 3

Step 4
Navigate to the phone's "Menu" section to install uploaded. Choose "Mologogo" and click "OK." It then displays the memory finding satellites that correspond to the phone. Choose "Preferences" and enter your login name and password. A map appears showing the coordinates of the phone and length of time in that location.
Step 5
Access this information online miles away from the phone. By using the Mologogo homepage, you can view the phone location and time of last 100 points of destination via Google maps. Test this system by giving the phone to someone, logging on and viewing their destinations.

In recent years, the increase in popularity of smart phones has made having a cell phone more of a necessity than a luxury. For many people, a cell phone is their only form of communication, and losing it could be very frustrating and expensive. Luckily, if you have lost your phone, there are several ways that you could recover and track down the cell phone from where you lost it.
The first way to track down a cell phone that has been lost or stolen is to try and contact the phone. This could be a great first step because if you have happened to lose your phone in your home, you should be able to hear the phone ringing if the battery is still on. If you do not have another phone to call it from, you could send a text to yourself from the email, which should have a similar effect. Second, if you call the cell phone, a person who may have found your phone may answer it and tell you where it is located. Then you can arrange a meet with the person to get your phone back.
Many newer smart phones have the ability to download an application that allows you to track not only where your phone is, but also where your friends are. Unfortunately, to use this method of tracking down a cell phone, you will have to have previously downloaded the application. If you have downloaded the application, using a friend's phone, you should be able to track the precise location of where your phone is. However, depending on the phone and application, you may need to have the phone turned on and the application activated for this method to work.
The third way to track down a cell phone that has been lost or stolen is to call your cell phone provider. If you have a newer smart phone with GPS technology, there is a chance that your cell phone provider could be able to track exactly where your phone is located regardless of whether or not the phone is turned on. Furthermore, the cell phone service provider could also provide you with a list of the most recent calls or texts sent out. If your phone was stolen, the thief probably made these calls, and calling the numbers provided by the cell phone provider could lead you to who stole the phone.
