I haven't managed all the nuances of this issue, but basically a CDMA connection is where a computer (laptop/desktop, IBM/Mac) can use a CDMA or GSM based cell phone to act as a modem, and dial an ISP for the end user. This connection requires a specialized data cable for the model of cell phone to be used (typically either a 9 pin serial to the PC or a USB cable to the PC - other end to cell phone). This capability is also referred to as tethering. Another requirement is that your cellular carrier must support *Data* connections. A standard data connection operates at a slow 19.2 to 38.400 baud connection, and the super high-speed connection is between 112 kbps to just under 256 kbps (realistically).
If you have the data cable for your cell phone, a dial-up account with an ISP, the PST (phone support toolkit) for your cell phone <-- this installs the hardware driver so that your PC can see the cellphone as a CDMA modem, and the cell phone installed as a *modem* in the Microsoft Control Panel (or Mac extensions panel), then you should be able to create a new dial-up connection with the ISP's logon username and password.
If you are using the super CDMA connection, your ISP will have to support this connection, and require a special number like a DSL modem would... something like #777 or whatever.
