you are probably tethered so if you used redsn0w open it on your computer and click extras then hit just boot and follow the directions. If yoused sn0wbreeze, run ibooty on your computer
Tethered means that you have to "just boot" your jailbreak every time you reboot your device. Untethered means that you dont have to do that
Depends on if you want it tethered or untethered. (Tethered means that when you shut down, it will boot up to the original Apple software. Untethered is permanent unless you reset the ipod) I recommend Greenpois0n (with a zero for the second O) for untethered and Redsn0w for tethered. Both are trusted jailbreaks that are nearly always successful.
A tethered jailbreak means that YOU CAN NOT TURN OFF YOUR IPHONE or IPOD TOUCH and YOU CAN NOT LET YOUR IPHONE or IPOD RUN OUT OF BATTERY if you did any off these things on your tethered jailbreak you will have to BOOT your device which mean you will have to re jailbreak your packages
So this is actually not that difficult to fix if you follow the instructions and take your time. The first thing is you should know how or with what you jailbroke your itouch with (redsn0w, blackra1n, etc.). Usually one of these applications will have an option that says "Just boot tethered now". Select the right firmware, check off the "Just boot tethered now" box. Make sure Ipod is off. Put Ipod into DFU mode and it should restart. *I recommend downloading redsn0w (works the easiest) *Make sure you have the correct firmware downloaded you can get it from this link: http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ *Let me know if you have problems and I would be glad to help :)
press emergency call, type ###, hit call, quickly disable it. and you are now in.
redsn0w is a program where you can hack your ipod and you can download as many applications as you want for free. To download redsn0w go to http://redsn0w.com/
Redsn0w Untethered, is the best for 5.0.1. You don't have to keep installing it upon every boot. ( Link is below if you want it)
You can't use it yet as the iPod/iPhone/iPad firmware 4.2.1 has not yet been released on jailbreak me. However, there is a tethered version of the jailbreak on redsn0w but needs an extra program for rebooting your idevice.
On an iPod/iPhone/iPad try opening app switcher and closing all those apps or if your jailbroken you may have done it wrong or be semi-tethered. If your semi-tether please open redsn0w and select "just boot". On a PC please check if it's able to run, installed correctly, or see how much ram it's taking. On a Mac please open software update. Hope I helped! -matt flamingmilkman@gmail.com
