From Safari's Window menu select Downloads, this will open a window listing your downloads. If this is empty check in the Preferences, from the Safari menu, under the General settings there is an option to "Remove download list items:" which can be set to "Upon Successful Download". If this is the case change it to some other setting such as Manually. In the Downloads window you can click on the magnifying glass icon and that will open a Finder window showing your downloaded item. By default downloads are downloaded to the Downloads folder.
That depends on what you are using to download them, and where said program is specified to download them to. Mozilla Firefox, for instance, usually defaults to the desktop (/home/username/Desktop).

Yes, a broken or corrupted external hard drive can affect game downloads if the download location is set to that drive. If the drive is malfunctioning, it may cause interruptions or errors during the download process, potentially leading to incomplete or corrupted game files. Additionally, if the game files are stored on the damaged drive, it could hinder gameplay or prevent the game from launching altogether. To avoid issues, it's advisable to ensure the drive is functioning properly or to change the download location to a reliable storage device.
