The easiest way is LG PC Suite. When you get your phone, unpack it and you will find the User's Guide, The Animal Card and Step Inside Your LG KP501. You will also find a disk with LG KP500, KP501, KP502,KP550 on it. That's the PC Suite Launcher disk and you'll need it. In the box, will be a charger and a USB cable.
Firstly, look around the edges of your phone and you will find a removable slide with a picture of some headphones on and a cablehead with an arrow on it (located by the volume switch (<|>). Insert your fingernail or something sharp into the cut beside it. Lift it up and it will slide along.
Insert the smaller cablehead into the hole and plug the larger one into a USB port located somewhere on your computer (LG PC Suite is originally designed for laptops because they have smaller ports to fit the head) Some downloadable and running files will appear. Click save or run on them all and then a programme will open. You will be asked to select a language and then you must press '> LG PC Suite'
When it loads you will be asked to insert the disk. Insert the disk and then you will be guided through a Download Wizard to help install LG PC Suite. When it has been downoaded, remove the disk, but keep the phone connected to the computer. Look on the start menu and you'll find LG PC Suite II on All.Programmes. Then, unlock your phone and click 'Menu' and on the sidebar press the bottom icon (a cog) and then in the bottom left hand corner, click the circle with the 2 green arrows on it (Connectivity) Then click on the 5th one down with a picture of a rectangle with the USB Connection Symbol on. (USB Connection...) Press PC Suite. Then while PC Suite is still on your computer screen, there will be a box at the top saying 'No Phone Connected'. Press the oval beside it saying Connection Wizard. Press next, press USB Cable, next again and then your phone will be connected. Press any of the icons at the bottom. For info see your LG KP501 User's Guide which is provided in the box.
