How do you create a file hosting website?

1) Sign-up for a web-host that gives you SSH access or at least the ability to install scripts (should be listed in their services profile...I've always liked dreamhost and cirtex, but literally hundreds if not thousands of others exist). You're going to want a plan that gives you a lot of disc space.

2) Choose a script to install; Oxishare is probably the most commonly used I'd say, but there are many options..some free and others not. Just search for "file hosting scripts" and you'll get all the options. I'm not going to recommend a particular one because the choice really depends on what you're looking for.

3) Install the script onto the hosting plan and domain you've signed up for and voila!
