There is two things you can do. One is easy but the other one requires you to know what kind of shower faucet you are looking at, and its components. Lets talk about the hard one first. On some shower faucets there is a adjustable heat handle. You must take apart the adjuster, usually it starts with the handle. Then there is something that looks like a crank. you must play with it. in some there is a screw. you need a thermomitor, to adjust the final temperature. i belive it should be minimun 125f. to be standard. Then there is the easy way, on your water heater there is a setting, hot, hotter and scaldiing, or a,b,c and some dots or both. Whatever you have, you probably have it on real hot. Lower it to something less, start one by one and go by the day, cause it takes a while to reset, by which i mean to cool off. setting "a" is standard. DO NOT PUT ON VACATION. JOE HOJAS

If the noise is only for a few moments after taking a shower, its the expansion on the hot water side. Water lines going through studs will expand and make noise. the only way to fix this is to get in the wall and either loosen the pipe or tighten it with a shim.
