There is an app called "ContactsGroupU" in the Android Market . The easiest way to do this is to group your contacts in gmail on your computer. On your phone, tap on the Market icon, find and download the ContactsGroupU app, and your Droid will sync with gmail and the groups will be available on your phone through the app.
Just type in your message to a desired contact the type in more contacts from there in the contact box
no the droid Eris is not a good phone.
I don't know if the setup is the same on other droid phones, but on my droid X, I held down on the bubble of the failed text until it vibrates and a menu pops up with the option to resend.

Yes
The best way to synchronize your business contacts with a new phone is through Google contacts. Simply upload your contacts to your Gmail account and they will be accessible to any of your phones in the future.
I'm not sure if you can. I had a droid, and I know when you go to your messages there was like no button in sight that said send to all contacts. What I would do is go in settings- to messages- and see if there is anything about contacts. Unfortunately, I don't even think any droid has the ability to do that. There are like very few phones that I know of that have send to all contacts.
text it to everyone in ur contacts then tell them 2 forward it to everyone in their contacts

yes. To make the answer a little more clear. Yes you can use a Droid, Droid 2, Droid X or pretty much any android with Metro PCS. I have the droid x and it works flawlessly with text and internet and all for only 45.00 a month. There are many guides online to help you with this.
Google it stupid!
To chat with a group containing multiple IM contacts: right click on the group name and then click on “Broadcast IM to this group”. You will get a new window with contacts IDs of all contacts in the group at the top. You can type the message and quickly send it to every contact in that group
