1. Download redsn0w. Both windows and Mac are supported
2. Download your iPod/ iphone firmware.
if you dont know what your firmware is, go to settings: general: about then scroll down to version
3. Run Redsn0w
4. Browse your iphone/ ipod firmware
5. Only install cydia and enable battery percentage then click next DO NOT boot tethered or you will have to jailbreak it every time you reboot it or it goes dead.
6. Put your device in DFU mode then just leave it.
7. make sure the device does not get unplugged during the process or you will have a broken ios device and you want a jailbroken. let the jailbreak do its thing and if the device does get unplugged just hold the power and home button for about 30 seconds.
