How do you send a message to someone you follow on twitter?

On Twitter, you can either send them a message while you're publicly updating (eg. "@Skunk_munchies your plugging yourself!!") or you can click on "direct messages" which is in the menu to the righthand side of the page. You can only send a direct message to people who are following you by either clicking: * the "message" link on the profile page

* the reply icon attached to messages in your direct message inbox

* the drop down box on the direct message inbox page

* the status update box using the direct message command: d + username + message (eg. "d skunk_munchies stop plugging yourself while answering a question")

theres no way to directly email them unless they have their email listed in their bio. if they are following u just DM them because most likely they have it set to get DM notifications to their email.

At the top of your Twitter page, you willl see a tab that says "Messages". Go there and you click the button at the top that says "New Message". Simply type in the username at the top, and your message below it. Remember- it must be less than 140 characters!

To tweet someone, you must simply include their twitter username with the @ prefix, then write your message. For example, if you were to tweet Twitter to thank them for creating the website, it would go as following:
