How do you shutdown a twitter account?

After you sign in, go to the top right corner where it states your username and click on it (should be a drop down) then go to settings. Then scroll all the way to the bottom and click on the button 'deactivate my account'.

To shutdown a twitter account:

1. Sign in to twitter.com on the web.
2. Go to your Account settings and click on Deactivate my account at the bottom of the page.
3. Read the account deactivation information. Click Okay, fine, deactivate account.
4. Enter your password when prompted and verify that you want to deactivate your account.

Note: Deactivating or shutting down a twitter account is not available on mobile devices and must be done by accessing twitter via web.
