Printing companies have different methods of assuring that their production team are going to do the right thing. Usually, there is a department assigned in checking the design files that clients give to them. They check if the layout fits well on the kind of material. For example, in poster printing, the borders and bleeds are checked to see if a part of the design will be cropped; or if the image will appear blurry, etc. After all these are inspected, the proof, or edited file, will be returned to the client for approval. After this the actual production happens.
Modern industry standard printers are made to produce uniform quality of prints. The settings are indicated on a computer and this gives the command on what printers should produce on specific kinds of paper and card stock.
