As of my last knowledge update in October 2023, Wikipedia experiences millions of edits each month across all its language versions. Typically, the total number of edits can range from 4 to 10 million monthly, depending on various factors like current events and community activity. The exact figures can vary significantly, so it's best to refer to Wikipedia's own statistics page for the most current data.
Most of the Wikipedia articles can be edited by anyone
We all do collectively & with integrity
Ask for references if they have doubt about the legitimacy of certain edits.
It has the same disadvantages this site does - it can be edited by anyone, the accuracy of contributions and/or edits cannot be guaranteed.
Just do lots and lots of edits, ask for more pages to get created, and have an account for 5 years.
Whenever Angeldust_X gets online, and edits Wikipedia articles, and supply's false information.
Not really. Remember: the public edits the answers. For ex., someone could change this text right now!
The Wikipedia copy on Answers.com comes from a "dump" of the Wikipedia database. At the time of the dump it contains all the English entries of Wikipedia. Since Wikipedia grows all the time, the Answers.com copy quickly becomes outdated. Therefore it's fair to assume that the most recent entries [and edits] on Wikipedia are not in the Answers.com copy.
Unfortunately, the Wikipedia articles that are on Answers.com (on the ReferenceAnswers side, not the WikiAnswers side) are exact copies of the Wikipedia articles, and they update almost as fast. It wouldn't do any good to edit it only on the ReferenceAnswers side, because any edit would only be copied over when we got the next update from Wikipedia.
As of this writing, the English Wikipedia has:26,922,651 pages, 3,922,601 of which are articles528,629,750 edits since its founding16,623,392 registered users, 138,574 of which have edited in the last 30 days285 different languages1,486 administrators and 34 bureaucrats....if that doesn't answer your question, feel free to clarify.
It would be almost impossible to read Wikipedia because it has 285 different languages. By the time you finish reading it you will have to start all over because there is more information and more edits on almost every page. Also, Wikipedia adds stuff faster than anyone can read. YOU CAN TRY!
You can use Wikipedia to communicate with others by sharing links to specific articles that provide information on topics of mutual interest. This allows for a common understanding and deeper discussion. Additionally, you can engage with others through Wikipedia's talk pages, where users can discuss content and collaborate on edits. By referencing Wikipedia, you can also support your arguments or ideas in conversations, fostering informed dialogue.
