How much does it cost to read a text message?

For most (if not all) services, it costs the same as if you were sending them.

So if it were 0.25 to send a text, it'd be 0.25 to read it as well. Sucks, huh?

Worst yet, some carriers charge even if you don't ever read it while others, especially prepaid services like Virgin, don't charge unless you open it. (So I heard from a friend with Virgin. Don't take that to hear without reading your service plan.)
