Other laptops have a miniRCA jack, or can pass TV Out directly through the VGA jack with a special adapter. Some newer televisions may even have a VGA jack themselves to be used as a monitor. If your laptop is not capable of these things, your only real option is a scan converter. A scan converter converts the VGA signal output from the laptop into an NTSC or PAL-compatible signal.
