Not at all - watching TV while studying is going to end up with you knowing a lot about the TV show and not much at all about whatever you're supposed to be studying!You can have soft music on in the background while studying - make sure it's instrumental and quiet because studies show that loud music or music with a vocal track are just as distracting as a TV set.
I know it seems tempting to watch TV but it's probably better if you study especially if it's like for a test the next day. Both are great things to do, but studying should always be the priority. TV can be a good reward or break from studying.
