No, it's not impossible to date the question and answer. Actually, the questions and answers are dated, believe it or not. If you look to your blue navigation bar to the left (if you are a registered user), you will see a 'Question History' link. If you click on that link, you will see the whole history of the question, with the earliest being either having been split off from another question or asked, and after that there is a small, gray printing. That gray printing is the date in which it happened.
