Neither.

Why would you pour grease anywhere except onto absorbent material / cat litter, so that it can be safely disposed of in the garbage bin??

Get an empty can (or 2 or 3) put some litter / newspaper / paper towel / tissues (all preferably USED) in, then carefully pour in the grease.

Try to get the amount of grease proportional to the absorbency of the material, so that you end up with a fairly ''stiff'' canful.

As extra insurance against getting any on the inside of your garbage bin, put it into a plastic bag, and tie off the top.

There are two thoughts regarding grease in the drainage system

1- Old school is to use hot water BUT as the waste cools off down stream the grease deposits will adhere to the internal piping causing a severe reduction in flow

2- New school says use cold water when Jetting the grease will break off in chunks and flow harmlessly down stream as FOG floats

3- Personally I like using cold water to remove grease deposits then use 140 Deg. F to scour the piping to restore full flow as originally designed BUT this takes longer and cost a lot more
