picture of fan belt tensioner on a vectra
There is an adjuster on the power steering pump. One cannot adjust it as it has an automatic tensioner if the belt is squeaking it is time to replace belt/tensioner or both
i need a 1992 mecerde-benz 300e 2.6 serpentine belt diagram
It is not hard. If you have the owners manual there is a picture of the route. On the front of the engine you will see a belt tensioner. Look at the belt tensioner and look close for a square that you can put a ratchet wrench inside the square. That is how you pull the belt tensioner back so you can place the belt on. It's just that easy. Be sure that all the groves are lined up on the pulleys and crawl under to make double sure. Did your belt break? Your A/C compressor is the biggest reason belts break. Listen for it. B
First take a picture of the belt layout or draw a diagram. Next locate the belt tensioner, it should be located right next to the power steering pump. Use a socket wrench with the appropriate size socket and turn the tensioner counter clockwise until the belt is loosened and remove belt. Then put the new serpentine belt on in the same order as the diagram or picture. The tensioner will be the last step of the belt placement. If you put the belt on correctly you should not be able to put the belt on the tensioner. At the point use the socket wrench and turn counter clockwise to loosen, this will allow you to place the belt on the tensioner. Hope this helps, good luck
there are two tensioners, the serpentine tensioner and the timing belt tensioner. the timing belt tensioner is behind the timing belt cover ;)
The alternator is sitting on a guide. It is held on it by a bolt. All you have to do is loosen that bolt and the belt pressure sould realese. Look around for a wheel that is touching the belt but appears to have no other purpose...this is the tensioner. Use a long handled wrench on the nut in the middle of the tensioner. there should be a diagram under the hood, in front of the radiator, that will show belt routing and show where the tensioner is...
that alt belt is a serpentine belt so you should take a picture of how the belt looks right now and then put a wrench on the tensioner pulley and relax the tensioner so that you can pull the belt off of one pulley then you can let the tensioner back so you have both hands free to pull out the old belt reverse steps to replace
Answering "Serpentine belt diagram for 1992 Mercedes Benz 300e 2.6?"
what's the question? how to do it? specific to corolla or just serpentine belt in general? release tension on belt by: -put a socket/breaker bar or ratched on the tensioner pulley bolt and use it to relieve tension on the belt -slide belt off tensioner pulley. replace with new belt in same pattern across all pulleys and again relieve tension on the tensioner puller to slide the new belt back on --you may need to remove the bolt on the tensioner closest to the pulley (i don't know just judging by the picture i found) ---if you don't know what the tensioner looks like look up the part on autozone's website for a picture you can match on your car
there is no repair for a belt tensioner. just buy a new tensioner. remove old belt, remove old tensioner, it is held on with one bolt. install new tensioner. install new belt
They are usually the smooth ones with no ribs.
