I also have a Sony KP-48V90, and had the same problem. Sadly this is a failure with the convergance unit. Unless you are good with electronics, it is not repairable. The convergence can not be manually adjusted and the repair kit alone costs about $75. To have it repaired would cost as much as a new 32 inch flat screen. I loved this TV and was very disappointed when this happened to my set. Call a repair service to see if they can offer more, but I don't believe they can. Good luck.
