It depends why they were demoted. The first course of action would be to talk it thru with a higher-ranking member such as a mentor. When I became a supervisor, I had little contact with my own mentor - which didn't really bother me, as I was doing okay anyway. Perhaps run it by someone like JoyceP - who is a very good mentor that I turn to if I ever need help. Use the search function to find her - and leave a message on her board.
