It means airman (e-3) whichs is the equivilent rank of seaman, but airmen generally work in an aviation field. You may also see FN which means Fireman, and they usually work in engineering and damage control, SN means seaman and is the generic title of someone in the navy who does not have a particular job. When someone has a job or what the navy calls a "rate" like Damage controlman which would be DC, then an e-3 that was a DC would be a DCFN...kinds confusing i know, but it makes sense if you think about it.
