The answer to this all depends on how your WordPress site is hosted. If it is WordPress.com they offer the option to add a domain to your site by paying a fee. If it is a self hosted site, then you would need to contact your hosting provider and they would change it your hosting account. there are then 2 ways you would change it in your site. the first way is to change it in the sites settings, then have your hosting provider change it on their side. Or have them do it first, and update it in your mysql database in the options table.
