On Fridays, people post "follow" recommendations so that their friends can follow them too. A typical post is #fridayfollow @friend1 @friend2 @friend3. What this is saying is, "I like these people and I think you will too."

A problem with this method is that people tweet a long list of friends without any context. It's more "Look at all the names I follow" when it should be "here are some people YOU should follow." So when posting a #FridayFollow, try @name followed by an explanation of why you recommend this person. For example "#fridayfollow @guykawasaki offers practice advice for startup companies in the tech world" is better than "#fridayfollow @guykawasaki" without an explanation.
