What is the book may bird about?

The book May Bird is about a girl named May Ellen Bird who goes into her forest in Breiry Swamp and falls into the pond. By doing that, she is warped to the afterlife, but here's the twist; she's still alive. It isn't until the third book that she accually dies, but one of the leaders from the Colony of the Undead has some dust from North Farm that makes you live again. Somber Kitty, her cat, does die, but it's not sad because you know he's with the people they met in the Ever After.
ps, it's REALLY GOOD and you should start on the second book- I did!
