Nagasaki is known for its warm climate, with the weather varying greatly around the prefecture. Whilst the summer temperatures in Nagasaki can be high, many travelers choose to visit this city during the more stable seasons of spring and autumn.

Spring, between March and May, is a great time to see Nagasaki, when the mature cherry trees are bursting with blossoms, known locally as 'sakuras'. Autumn offers an equally appealing climate and falls between September and November. In particular, October and November are the driest months of the year with little in the way of rainy weather, an added advantage when visiting Nagasaki at this time of the year.
