I think a refurnished is a laptop has been taken back to the shop for a refund and the shop resell the laptop.

Honestly, there is nothing wrong with buying a refurbished laptop so long as it is coupled with a free warranty. Let's put it this way, I have a computer from 2003. I upgraded the heck out of it and it still runs great. I am basically using a refurbished computer (albeit I refurbished it myself). As I already stated, just avoid the ones without a warranty. It all just boils down to whether or not you can deal with owning a laptop that you know isn't factory new.
