The reason that I believe is so, just in case something were to go wrong, such as a leak or a buildup, you can easily release the pressure to help prevent more damage being caused. I only had one semester of Intro to Engineering so I could be wrong, but I hope I helped.

The purpose of the relief valve in a tankless water heater is to release excess pressure and prevent the tank from exploding due to a build-up of pressure.

What is difference between pressure reducing valve and pressure relief valve?

pressure relief valve relief the excess pressure which is developed in the syatem, while pressure reducing valve reduces the pressure and supply it to the system.

What is the purpose of the well tank pressure relief valve and how does it function to maintain the optimal pressure in the system?

The purpose of the well tank pressure relief valve is to prevent the tank from becoming overpressurized, which can lead to damage or safety hazards. The valve functions by releasing excess pressure from the tank when it reaches a certain level, ensuring that the pressure in the system remains at an optimal and safe level.

What is the purpose of a water hose pressure relief valve and how does it function to regulate the pressure in a water hose system?

The purpose of a water hose pressure relief valve is to prevent excessive pressure buildup in the hose system, which can lead to damage or bursting. The valve functions by opening when the pressure exceeds a certain level, allowing excess water to escape and regulating the pressure to a safe level.

What is the purpose of a hot water pressure relief valve and how does it function to ensure the safety of a water heating system?

The purpose of a hot water pressure relief valve is to prevent excessive pressure buildup in a water heating system, which can lead to dangerous situations like explosions. The valve works by releasing excess pressure when it reaches a certain level, thus protecting the system and ensuring safety.

Difference between Thermal relief valve and safety valve?

A thermal relief valve is a liquid-only relief due to expansion of a liquid with increased temperature.A safety valve relieves pressure due to a gas.It should be noted that "safety valve" is a general term which could refer to Pressure Relief Valves (PRVs) or Pressure Safety Valves (PSVs), terms which are used synonymously in some industries (such as the petroleum industry) to refer to all relief devices in general.

The high oil pressure relief valve is located in the oil pump

Why is my pressure relief valve leaking and how can I fix it?

Your pressure relief valve may be leaking due to high pressure in the system or a faulty valve. To fix it, you can try adjusting the pressure settings or replacing the valve if it is damaged.

What is the purpose of a relief valve in a water heater and how does it function to ensure the safety and proper operation of the system?

The purpose of a relief valve in a water heater is to release excess pressure that builds up inside the tank. This helps prevent the tank from exploding or causing damage to the water heater. The relief valve opens automatically when the pressure exceeds a safe level, allowing the excess pressure to escape and maintaining the proper operation and safety of the system.
