I had this problem last year. I didn't pay much attention to it and ended up with a big flood which went through the ceiling of my kitchen downstairs. Many service men and inspectors came and couldn't find the problem. Finally, a local old plumber came over and said that my exhaust pipe up on the roof was clogged. This is the pipe sticking out of the roof that is connected to the bathroom pipes, not an exhaust fan. He unclogged the pipe very easily for about $40.00. If it's very clogged, a plumber can "snake" it for about $100.00. I have never had the problem since. Hope this helps.
