I personally didn't get a cell phone until i was 16, but times have changed. I think an appropriate age to first have a cell phone is about 13-15 yrs old. That way they have more maturity. If you think of having one before that age there are phones that have 'parental controls' on them it costs about $5-$10 more a month on your regular bill. You can see who your child calls and you can control who they can call too, its well worth it... i do know AT&T carries that option.
This is the most right answer! Don't listen to other ones! At the age of 12-14 you should for high school!
My daughter was allowed to get a phone with texting in 5th Grade. So about 11.
Maybe if they walk to school. but not really
I think a child should defiantly have a cell phone by the time they are in secondary school. Ten or Eleven would be a good age...
well i started when i was about 12. There is no really set age but you should like in middle school to later.
well i think middle school, because of many reason. I think if you get them one in ellamentrey it should be prepaid. My mom got me one in middle school. But i only got one for being responsible. She also said to have it just in case of an emergcy. If you get your kid a phone dont get them a blackberry. Thoses phones r for buness. Not just to have. Also makemsure you always have a better phone than them. They cant have a better phone when you pay the bill.
Middle school age is when my church does it.
You have to be in middle school. Usually around 12 to 14
Personally, I think a child should get a cell phone when they start staying after school in middle school, and high school. I personally think whenever your parents buy you one honestly.. Because if they buy you one at a young age that means you're mature enough to have one or at least they think you are. If they don't buy you one, then you're a child and you don't deserve one. If you're making your OWN money and have the money to get yourself one then good for you go do that..(:
14.
yes
The appropriate age to get a phone varies by individual maturity and need, but many experts suggest around 12 to 14 years old, aligning with the start of middle or high school, when children begin to require more independence and communication with peers and family.
