Hair spray should work, you can also buy goo gone, or a citrus cleaner.
I always use Goof Off and it takes every bit of residue off very cleanly.
It is called rubbing compound for fiberglass. It is not really a polish it rubs off residue that adheres to the fiberglass

WD-40 works well removing the sticky residue.
gently rub baby oil or WD40 on it.....
I would heat the griddle back up and wipe it off while it is warm.

Buy a product called "Goo-Gone"- it should remove label residue and has a lemon scent
Maybe try Goof Off but in a pinch you could try nail polish remover :)
