What to do when answering a telephone call?

If you are working for a company, firm, store etc., one appropriate way is to answer, "Good morning (afternoon, evening), XYZ company, John Doe speaking, how may I help you."

Calmly; and identify yourself, without giving enough information that someone could track you down. (Unfortunately, there are a few scammers out there.)

Using an upbeat, friendly voice, I like to first ask who is calling, greet them cordially using their name, then ask with whom they would like to speak. Sometimes they will not give their name, and choose to end their call right then. Other times, the person with whom they wish to speak is not available.

In America, you say "hello."

You would say " Hi this is(your name) speaking thank you for calling... How may i help you! or you can just call Walmart or a store and see how they answer the phone.
