He was our 16th President, who was responsible for ending slavery! He signed a treaty which allowed slaves to be free. He also did not invent the telephone and car and jeep and everything.
He owned a truck company and was the first to invent the JEEP.
I would say that Chrysler did not invent the SUV. The WWII Jeep is one of the first SUV's and at the time it was not part of Chrysler. Some so-called experts consider the Jeep Cherokee (XJ) as the first true SUV as we understand the term today. It was developed by AMC.
The Jeep was invented by The American Bantam Car Company based on specifications they got from the U.S. Army for use in World War 2. Karl Pabst was the engineer in charge.
I vote for the Jeep. It's more macho IMO & the Nav's are too boxy looking, expensive, with too much bling factor.
Karl Probst is credited with designing the prototype for the military jeep in 1940. His work was part of a project initiated by the U.S. Army to develop a lightweight, versatile vehicle for World War II. The first prototype, known as the Bantam BRC 40, was completed in 1940, leading to the mass production of the jeep by various manufacturers.
