Old very incorrect answer: Ios 4 and 4.1 are already out. You just need to sync your ipod alot soyou can get the latest ios (ipod operation software) version. What is ios 4? Ios 4 is an ipd touch, ipad, oriphone upate. It will only work with 3gs. Apple thought the apps running on an ipod would waste battery, so they allowed you to multitask by pressing the homebutton twice. It allows you to have folders for apps so you can fit more apps on your screen. It allows a 64 gb version, a pitcure of the album on music, it gives updates for all apps, and a camera. Ios 4.1 will contain game center which wil allow you to play multi player games and FaceTime where you can talk to each other through it's camera. If you update the iphone 3 it will have 2 cameras for face time.

NOTE: Whoever said "iPhone 3G/3GS will get 2 cameras after iOS 4.2 update" is a complete moron. It's not possible to place a physical camera on an iPhone through a sync cable. Everyone knows this.
