Philo Farnsworth didn't produce televisions on a commercial basis. By the time his developments went into commercial use it was under the umbrella of RCA who began regular broadcasts in 1939.

A television cost $125 at that time, not much different to a small television on sale today. However, with inflation, that $125 is the equivalent of about $2000. Owning a television was not cheap back then.
