The name droid came from it's software Android 2.0 or Android OS. Motorola thinks this may be the most Droid-like phone due to it's software, therefore they named it the droid.
The Droid-X came out on November 5th, 2009.
That droid is a probe droid, but to be more specific, a Viper probe droid.
yes it came out august 12
DROID is actually a brand name which Verizon licensed to use for its Android phones. Many people actually use the Droid name to refer to any Android device (similar to the way that people refer to flying discs as Frisbees or clear tape as Scotch tape). The Droid Incredible is made by HTC and is a popular phone, but it is 2010 technology with 1 camera. HTC Incredible 2 came out in 2011 with a front facing camera and some other features.
There is no Droid Thunderbolt. There is the HTC Thunderbolt. I would recommend the Droid Incredible 2 which came out in the past month. It dose not have 4G like the HTC Thunderbolt but It is far more powerful than the Droid Incredible and will be worth your while.
The name of the droid is C-3PO, not C3P4. He is a protocol droid in the Star Wars universe.
The Medic Droid is a droid which provides medical support in the field, the soldiers that do this are medics, so it was only fitting to call these droids "medic droids."
If you mean the silver protocol droid that was seen at the very beginning, that droid is TC-14.

No, only black. I wish they came in colors though.
The Droid cell phone was a brand name used by Verizon Wireless in collaboration with Motorola, HTC, and Samsung for Android-powered smartphones. The Droid line of phones was launched in 2009 to compete with the iPhone.
