A bigger prize obviously costs more in insurance coverage. Prize money can range from a few thousand dollars to $1 million or more. Prize money isn't the only coverage available, though. Some tournaments award new cars, boats or vacation packages. How the prize money is to be paid out also affects the cost of coverage. A lump-sum payment costs more than a $1 million prize paid out over 20 years.

We dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, in our mine the whole day through. We dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, it's what we like to do. It ain't no trick to get rich quick. When you dig, dig, dig, with a shovel or a pick. In a mine. In a mine. In a mine. In a mine. Where a million diamonds shine! We dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, from morning until night. We dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, ... We dig up diamonds by the score! A hundred rubies sometimes more! But we don't know what we dig them for, just dig, dig, dig-a, dig, dig. Heigh-ho! Heigh-ho! Heigh-ho! Heigh-ho! heigh-ho! Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it's home from work we go. (Whistled melody) Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, heigh-ho, heigh-ho, heigh-ho. :)
People needed to dig up a lot of ground to make them. Some were made obsolete by the railroad soon after they were constructed. Canals need a lot of water in order for the boats to sail on them. In the winter the water can turn to ice. In the summer, the water can dry up. Boats that are bigger than the locks of the canal can't use them.
